Born in Roma
Born in Roma opens with blackcurrant and pink pepper — tart, slightly resinous, the olfactory equivalent of a Roman street in late afternoon. Bergamot tempers the opening, adding brightness without dissolving the tension.
The heart is built on jasmine grandiflorum and Turkish rose, deepened by bourbon vanilla. The flowers are warm and present; the vanilla is architectural — a foundation, not a sweetener. Together they read as richly feminine without announcing it.
The drydown resolves into cashmeran and benzoin, a soft, skin-close accord with woodsy undercurrents that extend the sillage quietly over several hours. Born in Roma wears close in the best sense: intimate, sustained, and considered.
